My Route

July 14th, 2006 by Ross

In a nutshell, follow the coast until I get back where I started (with a possible diversion to Uluru near the end). Usually going in circles is a bad thing but if you make it a huge circle then it becomes good! That's deep, I should start a 'Sherlock says...' section here.

After arriving in Sydney and getting over jet lag I'll head north following the coast past Brisbane towards Cape York. From there it's across Queensland to Darwin in the Northern Territories before the monsoon starts in October/November. Continuing through the Northern Territories towards the Kimberley and across the Great Sandy Desert where almost certain death awaits me.

In the unlikely event of my survival to Port Hedland, I will continue down through Western Australia to Perth. Leaving Perth the direction is south and then east towards Norseman where the Nullarbor awaits. At the end of this desolate stretch, if delerious I may venture towards Uluru and Alice Springs. Beyoned lies Adelaide, a trip along the Great Ocean Road to Melbourne and the final leg ending where it all begins in Sydney.
