Two more days in the Territories

Tomorrow I’ll be out of the Territory and into Western Australia, the largest state in the country. It’ll still be nearly 3500km to Perth when I cross the border nad another 2000km from there to the South Australia border so it’s quite a big place. I left early today and took my time going a little slower than usual, Timber Creek the only ‘distraction’ between here and Kununurra was only 120km or so away.

I got there and parked myself in the bar for two hours nursing a can of Sprite. The airconditioning was imense, it was about 20 degrees cooler inside there than outside. After a while I was even starting to feel a little cold which is a strange feeling for me already! Someone there told me that there was another cyclist on the road around Kununurra. For a moment I thought it was Dai but turns out this person is heading in my direction. This is a good thing, he’ll know what the roads are like ahead of me which will be good to know. Apart from getting news about another cyclist it was a pretty uneventful day – just a long hot, humid and hard days riding with no chance of sleeping because it is way too hot even in the middle of the night. The joys of the tropics eh?
