Nothingness

The change from Camooweal was very noticeable, the bush scrub became panflat grassland in just a few short km’s. Standing in the middle of the road and looking around, all you can see is a ribbon of grey stretching off into the horizon. No trees, no bushes, no houses, only sunburnt grass and the road you’re riding on. Suddenly it feels intimidating, very very much so.

Before even though there was nothing out there you had the sense that there could be something around the next turn or over the next rise. Here you can see the nothing all the way to the horizon and for me at least I truly felt intimidated by the vast emptiness of where I was.

Its incredible!
